The Dipsea

Punishing, brutal, unforgiving and I'm glad it's over. I can cross this off the list of things to do in 2013.

Going up was unforgiving, but coming down was punishing. I iced my right knee for about an hour when we got home. The bus shuttle doesn't take you all the way back to the parking area in Muir Woods. There's still about another mile to go before you get back, and it's all downhill. It took forever because I had to do most of it sideways because it hurt too much to take the stairs head-on. I left my walking stick in the car, like and idiot, and it would have helped considerably.

Frida was with me the whole time, my constant companion, with her service vest on. Geri, and our friends Suzanne and Alex came along also. I can't imagine doing that hike with 45 extra pounds of body weight.

I got a hamburger, fries and ice tea, no sugar, after the hike. I worked off those beers from last night and at least another 6 pack.

That's it.

Peace,
