Weigh Day

You can't argue with the scale. Well, you can, but it won't do a bit of good. The numbers don't lie, and looking at the numbers I've lost about 4 pounds in the last two weeks, according to the scale. That's 2 pounds per week. I can't lie, I was hoping it would be more.

I feel like it took a lot of work to accomplish that small goal. The original goal back in Nov. 2012 was to lose 1.25 pounds per week. Then I lost 40 pounds in 7 months, and in June stalled for two months, and  didn't lose a damn pound.

I don't know if not drinking had any effect on my weight loss these last two weeks or not, but it feels good to be sober. I've gone years without alcohol and it's no big deal, but for me I believe the benefits of wine and beer especially outweigh the negative aspects of alcohol consumption, not to mention it just tastes great. We all need to get high or low.

If I'm going to reach my goal of 200 pounds by my birthday on September 8th I'm going to have to be especially careful of calorie intake and continue to ramp up the exercise.  So, no alcohol. I need to lose 2 pounds a week for five weeks. Eight pounds in a one month is a lot of weight to take off.  I have my doubts about my ability to shed it. Then there will be the push to get the additional 20 pounds off by the New Year.

Since today is a fast day, I can start right away, because today is the first day or the rest of my life.
That might be the corniest fucking line I've ever written.

I can't express in words just how difficult this is. It's my own fucking fault. I let myself get this way, obese. I let food control me, or I didn't care that it was controlling me. I was a compulsive eater. It won't happen again.

Speaking of addictions, check out the drama series Orange Is The New Black on netflix.com.

That's it.

Peace,
